Sound-FX Gives Mile-High Serenade on Southwest Airlines

If music is one of the simple pleasures that lifts one’s spirit, you would have loved the mile-high serenade we received on Southwest Flight 1589 from Los Angeles to Nashville on March 25th. The Los Alamitos High’s Sound-FX choir was on their way to compete in a competition at Nashville’s Grand Old Opry. Halfway through the flight, the plane was given a welcome preview as we soared through the friendly skies on Southwest Airlines, America’s favorite fun airline! With young men and women like these, America has a lot to be optimistic about.

Now, in a spirit of bipartisan appreciation, Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy said, “Birds sing after a storm. Why shouldn’t we?” Not to be outdone, Ronald Reagan called us to action with a musical bent, “Life is one grand, sweet song, so start the music.” We’ve had some pretty tough storms of late in America, and we need a few more people singing a sweet song.

After all, the right music can bring back a treasured memory, evoke a positive feeling or lift your spirit. Whether you play the music on an iPod, hum it as you walk, sing it in the shower, or experience a mile-high serenade on your next flight, let music work its magic in your life. You don’t need an iPod to play life’s music. Hum an upbeat tune that gets you going. Other people may worry about you, but your attitude will lift while they leave you alone.

After hearing Los Alamitos High’s Sound FX, we all may have found a new source for musical magic! Now get busy making some of your own.
